Artist's Comments

@@ Alright, for those who can't see who this is due to my crappy drawing(or the fact that his clawed hand is blocking his face), this is Howl, aka Howell Jenkins/Pendragon, the famous Wizard/Sorcerer from "Howl's Moving Castle": book by Diana Wynne Jones, movie by Miyazaki Hayao, Studio Ghibli.

This was a little idea that was in my mind... what if Sophie DIDN'T manage to break Howl's contract with Calcifer, and his curse wasn't lifted?
He would probably find himself slowly being taken over by the curse, and eventually not being able to control his transformation...
Why does he look unhappy?@@ Well... Who wouldn't be, if you suddenly find yourself turning into a monster against your will.
But fortunately, Sophie DID manage to break the contract and save our beloved Howl in time, so don't worry fans, he's alright~~ XD

The difference in his hands were done deliberately, so as to show that he was transforming out of control, and looking down at what was left of his human hand@@ (Great, now I'm sounding dramatic...= = "Oh~ There's no point in living if you can't be beautiful~~~" *spurts green slime* XDD )
I drew him in mid-transformation, so as to play with his feathers... I love playing with feathersXD *plucks one from Howl's tail*

I know that in Diana Wynne Jones' book, Howl does not have this transformation, but I still like the idea of the bird/raven that Miyazaki gave Howl in the movie, so this pic is of Howl in his version.

Started on 22-2-06
Finished on 24-2-06
Took me well over 10 hours to complete this piece...= =" *collapses*

Howl is copyright to: Diana Wynne Jones(book) and Miyazaki Hayao, Studio Ghibli(movie).

Thanks!! XD While drawing him, I've accidently picked up a new style of drawing feathers. *points to old pic of two eagles* They look different from how I use to do them. But I like that change XD One of my friends said it even looks a little 3D. I DID enjoy playing with his feathers, until I got to his tail...= = By then it was around 1 a.m. and I was going "...okay...3 more feathers to go...2 more to go...1 more..." Still, I'm quite satisfied with it^^
